SOLO - Postcards from loneliness
Loneliness is not a social or a physical condition, but more a mental perception.
We don’t suffer from loneliness when we’re alone, but when we feel lonely. I realized that I felt more lonely when I was surrounded by people than when I found myself without anyone. The photos I took over time told me. In the street, in the midst of crowds of people or lost on a beach I’ve spontaneously always tried to visualize, immortalize and tell loneliness.
When I became aware of this, I started collecting the photographic materials and organizing it into a project that I then decided to continue and expand.
From here comes Solo - Postcards from loneliness: a photographic story that is the visual and aesthetic representation of my sense of loneliness that often assails me when I walk, lost, through my places.
If you’re aware though, feeling lonely can be nice sometimes, right?
