Roberto Ruoli (born in 1995) grew up in Florence, behind the scenes of a theater. After graduating in Visual Communication at IED Florence, he moved to Rome in 2017 to start working as a copywriter at Ogilvy Roma. During this time, he began exploring documentary photography as a self-taught photographer.
Over the course of four years, he worked on radio and TV advertising projects for various clients, while simultaneously developing personal photographic projects and collaborating with the creative studio Timeplus.
In the summer of 2021, he decided to leave his agency job to fully dedicate himself to photography, starting his career as a freelance photographer. Since 2022, he has been collaborating with the Tuscan House of Photography project as a residency coordinator and content creator, managing four artistic residencies and several events related to independent photographic publishing.
In 2023/24, he attended the Master’s Program in Contemporary Reportage at Spazio Labo', under the mentorship of Arianna Arcara from the Cesura collective. In June 2024, he was awarded a scholarship to attend a one-week workshop with Mark Steinmetz and Irina Rozovsky in Fosdinovo (MS).
He currently works as a freelance copywriter and photographer.
